VidAngel, what the bleep?
Bleep, bleep, bleepity bleep bleep. That is some bad potty mouth right there huh? What was that I just saw on that screen? I can hear one of many adults say, “Cover your eyes!” I do want to start out saying that I have seen, heard and done it all just about, so no condemnation. To each their own, whatever makes you comfortable that is what you should do.
Being an adult now, I believe my parents did a great job of shielding me from all of the x-rated and r-rated stuff on television and the radio. The 1st r-rated movie I was exposed to was one made by the person formally known as a symbol and the other movie was one that I experienced when I went to the drive-in with my Aunt and Uncle and they wanted to see this kinda sorta Blackexploitation movie dealing with male prisoners that allowed females prisoners to visit during the fights (hint hint).
I remember covering my own eyes then and to this day I still do that in my own way, by turning my head away from the scene or turning the station. Now an adult, 2 times over, I do not want to be exposed to some acts and language because quite frankly I just want to help shield what goes into my heart by way of my eyes and/or ears, Proverbs 4:23 NIV Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
VidAngel, what the bleep?
There are so many movies and television shows that I would like to see but between the nudity and language I do not bother to fight through it, but I ran across a service that might actually help with that challenge and I want to share it with you.
The service is called VidAngel and it is a way for you to edit a television show or movie prior to watching it. It is an online streaming service that charges $1.00 for SD movies or $2.00 for HD.
How it works:
You have to pay for a movie to have the right to edit it, so for instance a movie costs 20.00. You go through VidAngel which can be used on Roku, Android, etc and chose your filters to match your preference and then stream the movie. The movie will cost either 1.00 or 2.00 depending on what you decide to stream. It works like Netflix and other streaming channels and it works like the red box in the since that you pay for additional days if you decide to keep it longer than the one day.
Example: 20.00 movie, but HD which is 2.00 a day and you return it the next day, VidAngel credits your account 18.00 and so you decide you want to get another movie the next week, you chose the movie and maybe it is 15.00, so it will subtract 15.00 from the 18.00 balance once you return the movie, it will charge you 2.00 and credit back to your account 13.00 dollars so 16.00 will be in your account to use for next time or you can chose to cancel your account and receive a refund.
Now you can feel a bit more at ease when watching some television shows/movies with this added level of protection so to speak.
Have you seen used VidAngel before? Let me know how well it works or does not work for you.
