Top Instagrammable Places in Palm Springs
Greetings from Palm Springs.
After spending a week there for our 12th wedding anniversary we certainly had no idea what to expect when we landed in LAX airport. We usually are ones that have an adventure dealing with water some kind of way, an ocean or sea close by but not this time. We were unsure of how things would turn out, but no fear if this is your first time adventuring to Palm Springs you are in a for a treat. I made a game out of our adventure time which is how I was able to come up with the Top Instagrammable Places in Palm Springs.
Our days started with being greeted by the warm sun and tall, very tall palm trees. Not much shade, but it is okay we are here to enjoy every part of Palm Springs. No complaining allowed!!! There are always things going on regarding culture, art, food and more in Palm Springs. So you ask what’s in Palm Springs to do? Why do people vacation in Palm Springs? Palm Spring things to do? Yes! Absolutely yes!! I can also recommend some more adult, strictly adult things to do if you like, just email me:)
Let’s get started…..
Best ways to travel in Downtown Palm Springs
Our hotel was located about 5 miles outside of Downtown Palm Springs and since we were not as active as we are now so we drove and parked in a lot and walked up and down the main street. Walking or biking is the best way if you ask me, because there are so many things we passed up due to us driving and had we been walking we would have seen more. Shhh this gallery was closed, but we still had fun taking pictures with the sculptures.
Although we did not stay at Hyatt Palm Springs, it is absolutely a head turner with beautiful Palm Springs mural right outside of the hotel. Too funny, I had to be in the middle of the two words, but it took two pictures to see exactly the magnitude of the mural. This hotel is certainly an everybody welcome here hotel with lots of things to do. P.S. It also houses the infamous checker board in the back near the pool.

Someone has gotten their wings early:) Another instagrammable place in Palm Springs is the Colette Miller angel wings mural which can be found on the side of Rowan Palm Springs. Significance of the wings if you did not know, is that we are the angels on this earth and that in so many ways is true.

There are many buildings Downtown Palm Springs and from them you can see some amazing views of the street. It certainly allows for a view from up here vantage point which can be amazing. I will come back in another post with a shoutout to Wilma & Frieda.
4. View from up here, Wilma & Frieda
The view on ground level is like I mentioned earlier, it is amazing. We spotted Sonny Bono, past Mayor of Palm Springs’ statue.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has nothing on Walk of Fame Palm Springs. This is an awesome way for the town to celebrate the people who have impacted the area positively. We did not locate all of the stars, but we did see a few people like Bob Hope.
6. Walk of Fame Palm Springs
Just about every new city we visit, we take a tour of the area and Palm Springs was no different. We took a tour of the rich and famous’ homes, but sadly we were not able to leave the vehicle and no, we did not see anyone famous. Something about protecting the privacy of the owners of the homes, blah blah blah:) We were able to take some pictures of the beautiful homes of people like, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Lena Horne to name a few.

Here is the time in which you would need to have a vehicle of some type because some of the hotels that have to be a part of your Instagram feed or story are off the beaten path. I did not have a chance to visit all of them, not even close to 1/4 but there are some have to come back and stay hotels and resorts in Palm Springs. The Saguaro and Korakia are the two that we did stop by and if you want fun and lots of color then go for The Saguaro and if you want the perfect place for a wedding in Palm Springs, you have to chose Korakia with it’s stone waterfall spread across the main courtyard. I actually thought about having our parents 50th wedding anniversary party (small, very small) there.

Just how many windmills does Palm Springs have? I honestly do not know, but something like 4000ish so I have heard. Meet me in Palm Springs and we both can work together to see if that number is correct or not.
9. Infamous Windmills
You know after being an area surrounded by some type of mountains and desert, we had to visit a national park and Joshua Tree National Park was our choice. Lots of twisted rocks and joshua trees all around makes for lots of exercise and climbing fun. I am kinda afraid of heights so I did not climb up that high but it was high enough to take some decent pictures.
10. Joshua Tree National Park
While on our tour of Palm Springs we drove amongst the mansions of the rich and famous and found some beautiful structures and at the time, we had no clue what they were, but as we continued on our tour we were told that they were the work of artist, Kenny Irwin, Jr. Apparently the garden in Palm Springs is not open, but if you are in the Metro Detroit Area, you can visit the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and find a mini display there.
11. Robolights Sculpture Garden
For those art and culture enthusiast, you can find more works of art within the Palm Springs Art Museum and guess what? On Thursday, during villagefest, you can obtain entrance into the art museum for free. That is such a great deal oh so worth it.
12. Ted Weiner Sculture Terrace and Palm Springs Art Museum
So long for now, and with that I had to include the Palm Springs sign upon the entrance of these beautiful place. I honestly cannot wait to come back, take more pictures and add to this list.

I haven’t been to Palm Springs yet, but looking through the lovely photos you have included here, really does make me want to visit sooner rather than later. Nature shots are always a favourite for me, so I especially liked your Joshua Tree photos.

Cool pictures! I haven’t been to Palm Springs before so I wasn’t aware of many of these places. The Robolight Sculpture Garden looked like so much fun. I need to visit Plam Springs the next time I am in California!

I can’t believe you flew into LAX to go to Palm Springs. I don’t really understand the appeal but I LOVE your photos. And maybe I feel this way because I already live in the desert. We pass Palm Springs a lot to go to the beach from Phoenix. A really great instagrammable spot about an hour thirty minutes from there if you go again is Salvation Mountain. So many fun bright colors!
