Chicken Sausage Switch with Al Fresco
As most of you have heard there is a big push to switch from pork to chicken, particularly in the sausage category. I jumped upon that band wagon as well due to the fact that hubby and I are attempting to lose some weight before our anniversary this August. I chose the Roasted Red Pepper and Asiago, but just for the record they have 10 different flavors so feel free to pick and chose depending on the recipe you have in mind. I had to have something quick/fast to be able to whip up quickly during the middle of the week and thanks to the fact that the chicken sausage…

Earth Day Dinner with The Wing Cafe
Almost 2 weeks ago Friday it was Earth Day and I had the chance to celebrate it for the 1st time as an ambassador with CulinaryLocal, I was sent to The Wing Cafe to get my 6 course dinner and drink pairing on. Guests enjoyed a great 6 course meal and Sierra Nevada beers thanks to Ryan Bing (The Head), southern picnic style. Yes, I said beers, for with every meal there was a different beer pairing and we had a nice Fire Pit right in the middle of the concourse just outside of the restaurant to serenade us. Ryan gave us a brief history of the beer selections, the…

Send Me Gluten Free Subscription Box
Subscription boxes are a great invention and just about everyone I know has received some type of subscription box of some kind, whether it involve food, hair products, clothes, etc. You or either someone you know has had the opportunity to try one and after attending the Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo #gfafexpo and being one of the featured bloggers one of the additional perks was to try out the Send Me Gluten Free April 2016 box. You talk about an excited girl. You mean I get to try out a subscription box to some place that will benefit my health? I am all on it. I will keep…

Veggie Fries, the Healthier Fries
Crispy, lightly salted, and light are part of my description for the perfect fries, but the one characteristic I left out was lots. Lots and lots of delicious and tasty plate of carbs. There have been times in which I would just cook up some fries and grab a plate and some bbq sauce and sit in front of the tv and eat. This week more than others have been crazy, so I did not have a lot of time to prepare something elaborate, but what came to mind was 1) we need something green and 2) something relatively quick to go with turkey burger. Veggie fries are some of…

Cave Tools: Meat Claws Review
Strong professional grade Meat Claws that can be used with any size and any type of meat, large or small. I chose to use chicken breast which worked out because I wanted to do Pad Thai and needed the meat to be shredded so I killed two birds with one stone. This great new kitchen accessory is great to have especially those that need to shred meat quick fast and in a hurry. The meat still remains tender and moist. You can carry items from the grill with these claws, you can hold the claw with one hand and use the other hand to slice the meat if you…

Oy! Restaurant Experience
Calling all foodies everywhere. I have a restaurant for you and some of you food blogger have already been there I know or know someone who has been there. Hubby and I are foodies in the heart, but we are not always able financially to go where we want when we want. At those times we go to a place that has great food, large portions and is reasonably priced and we found another one!!! I am a major researcher (anyone looking to hire researchers, I am your girl (wink)), and so it started off with me looking for a restaurant that has a Sunday brunch. I wanted to take…

1 of the top Kitchen Utensils
Cooking is one of my favorite necessities and hobbies. Necessity when I have to eat and hobby when I just want to try out a new recipe and do something new and different. I do not know know about you, but the first thing that I learned to cook was boiled eggs. I do not know about you, but I lived in a household where both parents worked and sometimes the same shift, so learning to cook was a necessity.

Quick Kale and Banana Smoothie
Part of my/our challenge in this eating better game is to make sure that there is some form of greenery in at least one of our daily meals, whether it is a green apple or two, romaine lettuce instead of iceburg, spinach or greens. Usually the way that I love and enjoy greens is to have some form of good old fashioned fatty meat mixed in the greens, but for the past 3 weeks since we have had this Blendtec machine we have cut down on the amount of fat and fatty meat that we consume. The Blendtec has served us well so far and today we decided to focus…

Blendtec PAS Smoothie Recipe
Everybody and I mean everybody loves a “new” toy and as far as what that “new” toy is totally subjective. Some people would say that it is anything that is new whether it is a new car, a new job, a new purchase, new clothes or even new toys. And in my case, my well our newest toy is a blender. Oh wow you say, what is the big deal. What is the big deal? The big deal is that it is a “new” toy that was in the making for over 3 years. You see, I have wanted that perfect blender and yes, I have settled once, but that…

Surprises. I just love surprises. At least most of the time I do, but of course only the good kind. Hubster and I are eaters of good food, whether it come from a small diner, greasy spoon or upscale 5 star restaurant just give us time and we will be there. This was not an exception. See what we had the lovely pleasure to experience:
