Meat Education 101 – Big Green Egg
I had the opportunity to attend the Meat 101 Class at Big Green Egg last weekend thanks to Culinary Local, www.culinarylocal.com, and it was so enlightening and eye opening. Big Green Egg Culinary Center is one of the best places to go for a great cooking device (Big Green Egg) of course, awesome and knowledgable staff/educators and some of the tastiest food. So there was this Meat Doctor, by the name of Jerry Draluck who facilitated the class and I see why they chose him. I have been to the Culinary Center about 3 times and each time it was so much fun and in an environment that is full…

Everybody Needs A Big Green Egg Basics Class
I had the opportunity to attend the Big Green Egg Basics class in partnership with CulinaryLocal and learned quite a bit about the Big Green Egg and how it is really a piece of equipment that every one should have if they enjoy cooking. After attending a couple of classes at the Big Green Egg, I can see how one should probably take the Basics class first. There is a lot of instruction that goes on from: Breaking down the components of the Big Green Egg Assembly How to light Your Big Green Egg Bringing the Egg Up to Cooking Temperature Setting up to Cook Cooking on Your Big Green…

Big Green Egg Tailgating Fun
I was given the opportunity to attend Tailgating on the EGG class at Big Green Egg Culinary Center, in partnership with CulinaryLocal and had an awesome time and left so full. Chef Amanda and Taylor greeted me with a smile and welcomed me to the class. When you think of entertaining and cooking what do you usually think of? Ovens, stove top cooking and bbq grills, but it is time to expand your way of thinking when it comes to entertaining and cooking. I had a chance to learn it first hand by attending my first Big Green Egg class in Atlanta. Prior to attending the class, I had no…

Meaty Classes at Pine Street Market
I had the opportunity to attend the Whole Hog Class at Pine Street Market for free in partnership with Culinary Local in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I learned oh so much from Rusty #knowyourbutcher. #ad Warning: A cut up animal picture is below. If you do not like to see cut up animals, this class is definitely not for you. Â Have you always wondered where various parts of the pig come from? Have you wondered about the process of how bacon is made or pork butt? Did you know that the pork butt actually comes from the shoulder of the pig? I had no clue, but…

Marietta Square Gem Piastra
Marietta Square Gem Piastra On a beautiful Tuesday night in the Marietta Square I was able to take part in a wonderful wine and food pairing. In the heart of the Marietta Square, Piastra Restaurant is one of those hidden gems. I have been to the Marietta Square many times and have never been to the restaurant until that day thanks to Culinary Local. I felt that I was a VIP with all of the participants of the Italian Varietal Dinner were in a separate room off to the back. I met Chef Greg and the representative from Cliffhanger Wines and they both are/were a wealth of information. Chef…

Downtown Decatur Food Tours Experience
What better way to explore Decatur Georgia than on a beautiful Saturday. The sun was out and everyone was greeted by our wonderful engaging and beautiful tour guide Tracy. Guests were not bored in the least. There was plenty of great eats and rich history which now I understand why they say “Decatur, where it’s Greater!!” I received a free ticket as a member of Culinary Local to write an honest and unbiased review. Downtown Decatur Food Tours Experience 1st stop was at Taiyo Ramen and this was one of the highlights by far: steamed pork belly bun. Incredible!! I would have eaten at least 5 of these and enjoyed…

Grape Harvest Celebration Party
Harvested grapes can make such beautiful music in one’s glass and that is what we found at the Grape Harvest Celebration Party last weekend. An intimate gathering of people from various races, genders and experiences enjoying great wine, good farm to table pairings, and enlightening conversations. This evening was a special treat for hubby and I because we’ve never been to a winery. This was a collaborated event with The Gifted Ferret, a beautiful shopping boutique and Big Door Vineyards, winery which is currently being built. We checked in and were given our own engraved wine glass that we took to each table to sample the various wines. Let’s get sampling and first…
