Verse mapping is certainly a new term to me. How about you? Verse mapping means using Bible study tools to research what you have read in the Bible – to help you learn more about what God is saying to you and how you can apply His Word to your life today.
This unique study technique includes exploring Hebrew and Greek word studies, finding connections in Scripture, comparing Bible translations, and learning as much as you can from your time in God’s Word.
5 Steps to Verse Mapping
- Choose a favorite verse that you want to delve deeper into
- Read the verse in two or three other bible translations and underline the key words that are the same or different between the translations.
- Look up the Hebrew or Greek meaning for the underlined words and jot it down.
- Start asking questions of the verse. Imagine, if you would, how it must have been like to experience what was happening
- What is God saying to you and/or how does this verse relate to your life today?
