Sparky Shuffle Cocktail with Four Roses Bourbon
Four Roses Bourbon asked me to come up with a drink to celebrate baseball season, and although I am late for opening day forgive me please:)
Being from the “D” everybody who could went to the Detroit Tigers games. I heard about them every since I was a little girl and still to this day if there is a game on and the Tigers are playing no matter what team they are playing I am going to support them.
Baseball was a game that I would watch the boys play on the playground and duck and sometimes run away when the ball would come my way. To see the players slide into home base and almost knock the mess out of the catcher would be one of the highlights for me.
The best Manager that I had the pleasure to see hit the scene was good ole’ Sparky Anderson. By the time I got into the game good, he was the Manager and he was part of leading the Detroit Tigers into sweet victory in 1984 with Alan Trammell and other great players. I was not able to watch the game in the great Tigers Stadium, but I was right in front of the television with millions of others watching as it happened.
I have not had the pleasure to go to the original Tigers Stadium, but I have been to the new stadium, Comerica Park, a couple of times and it is a nice stadium.
This drink is in homage to Sparky and the original stadium:
1 1/2 oz of Four Roses Bourbon @fourrosesbourbon
3 oz of pink lemonade
1 oz of pomegranate juice
1/4 teaspoon of sugar (I have a sweet tooth and I needed it a bit more sweet)
Combine the ingredients in a blender to help dissolve the sugar and serve it on the rocks.
Nowadays the games just do not seem as great as they used to be. It is more about looks and showboating and not the love of the game, but just maybe another Manager like Sparky will come back and change the game.
I have received Four Roses Bourbon for free in exchange for creating some great cocktails.

Thank you for stopping by Jess. Hubby has fallen in love with it, so much so that he saved the bottle so that we would remember to get some more:)
