Parenting 14 Gospel Principles Book Review & Giveaway
Parenting in any form is not an easy job, but it is one of the most important and rewarding jobs there is on this planet. And like with any other job, we always can think of ways to do it differently that will effect everyone involved in a positive way. To do that job is not one that we can do on our own. Tripp shares that our purpose is to lead and guide our children not rule over them. No checklists given in this book, just suggestions on how we can change our attitudes towards being parents and showing us how to parent with grace, love, patience and joy. Every principle is backed up with the Word of God and in every step of the directing us and the kiddos towards Him.
There are 14 Principles listed in this book, but the theme through the entire book is the grace that God gives us that we have to tap into to get through each day to which we need to give to others (children). Speaking of grace, “Like everything else God calls people to, God doesn’t call people to be parents because they are able. God designed us as humans to be dependent (Tripp, 2016, p. 35)

I like “”God doesn’t call us because we are able.” He calls us and then makes us able.

Hello Arlett. Thank you for stopping by. There are countless examples of Him calling us and then grooming us. He knows what He is doing.

I was just thinking today that when I have children, I want to talk to them the way God talks to me. He’s our best model.

Amen Raquel. God is our best model. Thank you for stopping by.

Thanks for sharing this book with us. I love supporting authors/businesses that promote the necessity to have God in one’s life. Kids don’t come with an instruction manual, but thankfully, there are lots of good resources available to help us in the journey.

Hello Michelle. It has been my pleasure to share this book with you. God is the only way in my opinion that we can get through and survive this crazy world let alone trying to raise little ones hoping that they do not add to the craziness.

I see so many parents posting in groups asking for help managing their children. I wonder where they went wrong and why they had no strong foundation or guidance.

Sounds like there are some gems in this book. I agree with the point about guiding as opposed to ruling over our children .

Parenting is one of the hardest jobs I have. We are not given a template and only doing the best job we know. In an time where parents are trying to be their kids friend I am the total opposite and a disciplinarian
jerchap1ver5
Hello Tomiko. When hubby and I have our little ones, I will be more of the disciplinarian as well.

Fourteen Gospel Principles sounds like a very encouraging book for parents! I know I pray regularly for God to guide me and show me how to give grace, love, and joy in my parenting. I like what the author says about parents are to guide their children and not rule over them. Very good point!
jerchap1ver5
Thank you for stopping by Jennifer. Praying to God for guidance is an awesome thing to do. Keep up the good work.

jerchap1ver5
Thank you for stopping by. It is certainly not a walk in the park, but keeping in mind that we are a bunch of imperfects trying to help imperfects we might not be as hard sometimes.
