Nomad Motel: Horizon Theatre
I have received passes for a showing of Nomad Motel for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. #ad
Would you leave your teenage child alone to fin for themselves while you try to get your act together? Have you came the end of your robe and thought that they would be better off without you? These are just some of the few questions, some of the characters in Nomad Motel had to ask themselves.
As I have mentioned in my original Nomad Motel post, Nomad Motel is a funny and poignant tale of motel kids and parachute kids raising themselves and making something out of nothing in the land of plenty.  To be quite honest, I did not know what a parachute kid was until seeing this play and if you do not know, according to the Urban Dictionary, a parachute kid is children who are sent to a new country, to live alone or with a caregiver while their parents remain in their home country.
Horizon Theatre is great at set design and managed again to wow the audience. As you can see one side of the stage was the motel where a teenage girl, her two brothers and mother stay and the other side was a big house to which a teenage boy lives by himself.
Nomad Motel: Horizon Theatre
Key sign of a good play is when it is able to illicit emotion. This play pissed me off so bad that I wanted to beat some of the characters ashtrays. Ha ha. If you have ever seen one of the plays at Horizon Theatre, you know that they know how to get their audiences emotionally involved and question themselves and truly this play was no different.
