Mr. Malcolm’s List Movie Review
Most of my movie and series list on my streaming platforms are involving British culture. It really intrigues me and I just have a hard time turning it off. From cooking shows, to crime and punishment pieces, I enjoy them all. There is a book that was adapted into a film by Bleecker Street, Mr. Malcom’s List, it has become a must-see.
Julia Thistlewaite (Zawe Ashton) is jilted by London’s most eligible bachelor, Mr. Malcolm (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù). Feeling humiliated and determined to exact revenge, she convinces her friend Selina Dalton (Freida Pinto) to play the role of his ideal match.
Mr. Malcolm’s List is directed by Emma Holly Jones and written by Suzanne Allain. This fun story opens in 19th century England where we find Ms. Thistlewaite being wooed by Mr. Malcolm. He is apparently one of the town’s most eligible men.
Ms. Thistlewaite is rejected by Mr. Malcolm after not meeting up to an item on his list. His list is his must go by’s when finding his wife. As some of us women folk today, once we are hurt, it is time to hurt back and in pursuit of doing that, Ms. Thistlewaite is determined to make Mr. Malcolm pay. In comes, one of Ms. Thistlewaite’s friends, Selina plays the role of his perfect woman. What happens next, you will have to wait until July 1st to find out.
Perfectly casted, all of the actors played their parts well. Those you are meant to not like so much, you did just that, and the ones you are meant to love, you will love.
Get your tickets now, it is a must-see.
