Lunette Menstrual Cup Review
Let’s talk about that wonderful time of the month that us ladies have to content with, “THE PERIOD!!!!” Â Yuck. I mean there is no way around how yucky it can be. Everyone’s is different, some people have light days all the way through, some people have heavy flow right from the beginning, some have cramps and bloating and are extremely emotional. Well… I am a combo of some of all of the above.
Right now to be honest, I am on that emotional side (some hours, not days, some hours I am yelling at people in my head and others I cannot get to the bathroom fast enough to get some tissue because I am crying:) Totally funny, I know but hey it is my reality and I just thought that someone else could relate. Not to mention that I do not want to have a PERIOD right now. Hubby and I are ttc (click for the last update) and believing God, but are a bit impatient, He (God) would probably say.
So… I have address the PERIOD thingy and just in time too. I have received some samples of menstrual cups from Lunette and trust me, I like to try new things, but this was truly a first. A cup to hold…you get the picture. I did not think it was possible until I tried it and it does work. Will I use it during every cycle? Not sure, but we will see.
Lunette Menstrual Cup Review
How to use:Â
Inserting the cup is fairly simple, but it will take practice. Washing your hands and get prepared as you would if you were doing your yearly checkup (relax):) Â You can insert your cup while standing, sitting or squatting and spreading your legs will help with a successful and comfortable insertion. Fold the cup in on itself to make it flat. Then fold it in half so that it makes a “C” shape. Keep the cup rolled up and guide it rim-first into your private area. Now to make sure you’re cup has fully opened, you’ll want to slide a clean finger up next to the cup and feel all the way around it (omg so gross). Your Lunette should be emptied about 2-4 times a day but can be used at night for up to 12 hours.
When it’s time to empty your cup, wash your hands and relax your muscles. You need to squeeze the bottom ridged portion of the cup until you feel the suction release. Grasp the bottom of the cup tightly with your forefinger and thumb and rock it back and forth. Gently ease your cup out. You want to be sure you’re not pulling it out by holding the stem alone (which is what I did the 1st time). Then you just empty your cup into the toilet, rinse and repeat.
