National Vegan Month – Lilly’s Hummus
I have received coupons for free product in exchange for writing a review.
After celebrating Thanksgiving, my tummy could use a break from all of the heavy food and I have found a great product for National Vegan Month. We are snackers in my household and if we can get a great product that is better for us we are totally going to indulge in it. Hummus is one of our favorites and Lilly’s Hummus is going to be one of our go to brands.
When you taste the hummus from Lilly’s, you can tell it is fresh and that there is nothing but what is needed to make that particular flavor of hummus. No additives or preservatives. My favorite way to eat Lilly’s Foods is with organic tortilla chips from Kroger.
From Lilly’s Foods website:
What makes Lilly’s different? We decided long ago, to kettle-cook organic chickpeas for a fresher, nutritious, and better tasting hummus. They’re first soaked overnight, then cooked in batches. Hummus is produced fresh weekly in our Portland, Oregon facility.
Fresh red bell peppers, tomatoes, and jalapeño peppers are slow roasted over hazelnut-shell briquettes. The effect is similar to roasting with a dense hardwood or fruitwood, only our briquettes are made from an entirely renewable resource – the hazelnut shell. Hazelnut-shell briquettes impart a rich, savory roast-y, smokiness unique to the Northwest. No nut meats are used, and they’re petroleum free.
