Grape Harvest Celebration Party
Harvested grapes can make such beautiful music in one’s glass and that is what we found at the Grape Harvest Celebration Party last weekend. An intimate gathering of people from various races, genders and experiences enjoying great wine, good farm to table pairings, and enlightening conversations.
This evening was a special treat for hubby and I because we’ve never been to a winery. This was a collaborated event with The Gifted Ferret, a beautiful shopping boutique and Big Door Vineyards, winery which is currently being built. We checked in and were given our own engraved wine glass that we took to each table to sample the various wines.
Let’s get sampling and first up on Grape Harvest Celebration Party:
1st pairing: lemon marinated tortellini and Blanc de Bois
2nd pairing: carrot, honey and ginger soup cups and Bodegas Carrou Chardonnay de Reserva
3rd pairing: Spicy Poblano Pepper Pulled Pork and Lenoir
4th pairing: Beef Bouchees and Telteca Uma Coleccion Malbec
5th pairing: Handmade Grand Chocolate Truffles and Sangue Di Giuda (my favorite pairing)
We were treated like family and dear friends by the staff of both the Gifted Ferret and Big Door Vineyards and you will receive the same when you visit. Everyone was given the chance to receive a guided tour of the vineyard grounds and we jumped on it. We were given an extensive explanation of the operations and grape varietals grown onsite.
Ooops how could I forget the live entertainment, which included 2 great guitar players (male and female) that may look forward to performing in the amphitheater that will be at Big Door Vineyards. This venue is going to be a great place to have weddings, so if you have a wedding planned within the next year or so, please keep these businesses in mind for your event and/or wine needs.
This is the 1st annual, but you can bet due to the great turnout that this will be an annual event, so to stay connected, please check out ⇒ The Gifted Ferret and Big Door Vineyards.
