Fight For Us Review
I have received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. #fightforusbook
February as you know is love month and for any relationship, every month should be love month. Hubby and I have had our times in which we had to Fight For Us. It hasn’t always been an easy task, but we fought and continued to do so.
Fight for Us takes couples on an inspiring journey into the challenges of battling for their marriage, through gut-wrenching times of despair, and then finally to the victory of a renewed relationship grounded in Jesus.
Fight for Us delivers a compelling marriage challenge of “five rounds” that teach readers how to develop the never-give-up, never-quit mentality every relationship needs in order to combat the enemy’s constant attacks.
Utilizing narrative elements from the real-life story of Chad and Kathy Robichaux, readers will learn how Chad’s deployments to Afghanistan as a Marine–and subsequent career as an MMA fighter–allowed him to disengage from his emotions, his marriage, and his children. When his crippling PTSD brought him to the brink of suicide, Kathy’s pastor taught him the “five rounds” of fighting that are necessary for the battle for any marriage.
At the end of the rounds, readers will discover God’s design for marriage, which saved Chad and Kathy’s relationship. Today, they aim to pay it forward and share what they’ve learned with other couples. Fight for Us features application sections, discussion prompts, affirmations, and Bible verses, all designed to help readers apply the book’s key marriage principles.
My Take on Fight For Us
One has to decide not to give up on us. This book has 10 chapters all of which have a discussion, affirmation, and action to help aid in making the marriage the best it can be. Marriage is work, but totally worth it if you both can choose not to be selfish. I have watched many fights with some heavy-weight greats and so when the book mentions five rounds, it peaked my interest. The five rounds include:
Believe that God loves you and has a purpose for your life.
- Believe that God loves you and has a purpose for your life.
- Take responsibility for your actions.
- Accept that you can’t change the evils that you’ve encountered.
- Access God’s power.
- Put yourself second.
We had to go through all of these five rounds together and apart. We both had to believe that Father God loved us and had a purpose for us. We both had to take responsibility for our actions and do better and be better. Father God expected that from us whether we were together or not. There have been evils that we have witnessed, whether they were self-inflicted or not. Taping into God’s power and not our own is what made the difference. He always thought the best of us. We had to match what He thought but we could not do that in our own power, but His. Once we decided to stay together, looking beyond ourselves and looking at our mates in order to see change was key.
Have you and your mate found yourselves wanting to give up? Don’t!! Decide to fight together to become and remain one. Father God wants the best for you and Fight For Us will show you how to achieve it. See how you can get a free chapter here.
