Earth Day Dinner with The Wing Cafe

Almost 2 weeks ago Friday it was Earth Day and I had the chance to celebrate it for the 1st time as an ambassador with CulinaryLocal, I was sent to The Wing Cafe to get my 6 course dinner and drink pairing on.

Guests enjoyed a great 6 course meal and Sierra Nevada beers thanks to Ryan Bing (The Head), southern picnic style. Yes, I said beers, for with every meal there was a different beer pairing and we had a nice Fire Pit right in the middle of the concourse just outside of the restaurant to serenade us.

Ryan gave us a brief history of the beer selections, the meals that were paired with them and why along with the history of Sierra Nevada Brewery. I thought it was a cool touch seeing as though some of us there had not heard of Sierra Nevada beers, but very much so enjoyed the narration.

We all were given goodies which included Sierra Nevada labeled t-shirts, glasses, bottle openers and lip balm which was a nice surprise. Now on to dinner, 6 courses and trust me when I say everyone left with to-go plates.

1st Course: Homemade Pickled Vegetables/Fruit paired with Sierra Nevada Summerfest

2nd Course: Bing’s (Randy) Fresh Catch Smoked Trout Dip paired with Sierra Nevada Otra Vez

Nothing but laughs, tummies full of great food and Sierra Nevada beers and history lessons. Well worth the price of the dinner and then some. Apparently, the Wing Cafe has been doing this since 2010 and trust me, you do not want to miss the next one. Read more about my experience Earth Day Dinner.
