One of the most embarrassing times in my life has been when I thought that I was looking cute and I was, but my little black dress only to find that there were all kinds of white flakes on my shoulder and not it was not a spotted dress. It was from that horrible thing called dandruff. Many dates and outings have been almost ruined thanks to my scalp having dandruff in it and it appearing at the most inopportune time on my clothes. Little flakes on my clothes makes me feel self-conscious and then I have to do a cover up of the outfit or try to be in dark light wear the flakes are not easily seen.
In the pursuit of ridding myself of flakes, some products are just so harsh that they strip my scalp of it’s natural nutrients and causes other issues. I was given a sample of Dove Dermacare Scalp products to review and give my honest opinion as well as another set for a giveaway.

The active ingredient, pyrithione zinc, effectively tackles dandruff in a formula that renews scalp and hair’s natural moisture. Its mild, pH balanced formula gently cares for hair.
After shampooing, I followed up with, Dove Dermacare Scalp 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner Invigorating Mint, (which has a luxurious creamy consistency) and surprising to me I had slip in my hair, which made it easier for me when it came time to comb. It did not dry out my hair which has been the problem that I have had with other products.

As you see, I have decided to put wear black again and I am so happy to report that I had no flakes and this product line does say that with regular use, there will be no flakes so that part is absolutely true!

Oh gosh no. That had to be terrible. I totally can understand though. Hopefully these products help ensure that it never happens again.

I don’t really have a dandruff story, but last summer my head got sunburned (true story!) and it PEELED. I had huge pieces of skin peeling off and it would happen randomly during the day, so I might not know about it and they would just be hanging out in my hair. I told family/friends that I was around frequently and my co-workers so people didn’t think I had some weird skin condition!

I often have trouble with dandruff for my daughters. They do a lot of horse shows and their hair needs to be in a braid. Well lots of times there is some dandruff that I try to rub out for them.

I personally do not have an embarrassing dandruff story but my poor kids who have very dark hair suffer from dandruff and dry scalp all the time. I am always looking for new products to help them. Their scalps even hurt at times due to their itching.

My story is I was sitting in class when my scalp started to itch. Started to scratch my head and down came a lot of white flakes on to my desk. Of course the boy next to me could see it. Yes he made a big issue of it in the class room. LOL!

I do not have a personal story but my poor 19 year old daughter has a few.She wears a lot of black shirts due to most of the bands she loves seem to only have that color choice. She has had a few times at concerts, esp Warped tour that it was an issue for her.

No embarrassing story with dandruff on my scalp, but I also get dandruff on my eyebrows occasionally (I’m a guy with thick eyebrows !)…if I forget to shampoo my eyebrows with dandruff shampoo I sometimes get tiny flakes !

I think I would want to try the dryness and itch relief shampoo since that seems mostly what I deal with. I like 2-in1 products also, though, that would be another choice.
