Divine Disruption Book Review
I received the book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. #divinedisruption #kingdomlegacy
We all have had disruptions to our normal regularly scheduled lives, but how we deal and process it differs from one person to another. We need to believe that there is a divine message in the disruption. The hope of that the disruption could save our lives and bring us closer to God, but are we strong enough to say it is a divine disruption?
Dr. Tony Evans is one of my favorite pastors. I have been listening to him and reading his books off and on for over 5 years. I was hurt, very hurt for him and his children when I heard about the passing of Mrs. Lois Evans. When I heard about Divine Disruption, I wanted to be a part of the review and consider it an honor to be a part of it.
Peek into Divine Disruption
In Divine Disruption, Dr. Evans and his family invite us into an honest conversation:
- recognizing God’s presence in touch times,
- dealing with devasting loss
- revealing how to keep moving forward in faith when it feels as though your world has stopped
I like that from the beginning they let us know the layout of the book and the purpose. The family is coming together to talk about holding tight to faith when life has broken your heart. They lovingly share their point of view during various disruptions in their lives.
Part 1 is lots of stories told from each one’s perspective and Part 2 is more devotional. I can appreciate them addressing the hard questions we all have to and about Father God. Seeing the various points of view helped me better understand relate better to their disruptions and how different people can go through the same event, but think about it differently.
About The Book
Divine Disruption explores the many hardships we experience in life and how God breaks through with the power of hope. In the book, Dr. Tony Evans and his four children – Chrystal Evans Hurst, Priscilla Shirer, Anthony Evans, and Jonathan Evans – discuss their faith-shaking experiences: from the deep grief of losing six loved ones in less than two years’ time, with the most devastating blow being the death of Lois Evans, the matriarch of the family, to a deep dive into dealing with the various hard, unexpected things we all face. Life throws many curves – whether the loss of a job or health due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic, or marriage and relationship issues, problems with children, even the recent racial and political unrest.
