The City of Conversation Recap and Afterparty
Not much talking these days in the political arena. It is more yelling an accusations and lies, not a good old fashioned conversation where people listen to each other and then spoke. Where the different sides of the political divide might have opposed each other persay in public, but afterwards sought to have a discussion over dinner and drinks.
Main character, matriarch Hester was the hostess with the mostess. She was one who hosted parties and had different sides there to discuss politics and many a vote or thought were changed due to the behind the scenes conversation. Until then her life seemed to go a bit smoothly until her precious baby boy comes back from school along with his fiancee. Hester has met her match and you can smell the tension coming on from the initial sentence.
See how tables turn and possibly overturn at one of Hester’s dinners that just so happen the son and fiancee are just in time for.
Does this house remain the place where players go for drinks and conversation or does everything come to a screeching stop.
After the play, we had the chance to meet with the actors and directors, and all of the wonderful people at the Horizon Theatre at the afterparty that took place at the theatre. Days and Times: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 3 PM and 8:30 PM, and Sunday at 5 PM. No Sat matinees May 21 and June 4.
