Atlanta Southeastern Women’s Expo

Free makeovers, massages, raffled cruises and free seminars? Who would pass that up? Not this girl. There was a women’s expo in Atlanta,  called Atlanta Southeastern Women’s Expo on the 7th and 8th of November and I most certainly attended. It was no cost for most people, because the wonderful host provided VIP free admission tickets online on the website for free for quite some time. The only thing I found is that I do not think that it was that publicized because I only heard of the event going on once throughout the entire 2 weeks I knew about it and I did not see that many women there.

Atlanta-Southeastern-Women's-Expo-2015Want to see what I encountered? Come along with me to see if it was worth it or not? Okay, I should not say that because all it did was cost me time (which I was not busy during the time and some gas).

I am one for being early and staying at events as long as I need to so I can go around several times to make sure that I do not miss anything. I do not know about you, but sometimes the vendors offer discounts or lower prices or better goodies the longer you are at the event.

For this event, the main reason that I stayed as long as I did was because I wanted to hear from Dr. Taz. She is a well known doctor that has been seen on Dr. Oz and other television shows and has a practice here in the Metro Atlanta area and I will share what she said a bit later.

While waiting, I managed to have a few great conversations with 3 women in particular, 1) one from a timeshare company and she was just the sweetest person and sure it is part of their job to be personable, but we kept talking even after I told her that my husband and I just took on part ownership of one of my parent’s timeshares, so we do not need there services, 2) her co-worker which will lead to a great working relationship when we finally connect, and 3) last but not least, a what I would like to call a famous food blogger from the area, Erica and the conversations with these women went from jewelry, vacations, and old school remedies that helped compared to these new things we are bombarded with today.

After walking around some more, I noticed that there were 2 stations giving 5 minute massages, and no I was not graced with a massage because so many women were waiting for them, but enjoy the pics:

On around I went and you know where there is women, a cooking demonstration has to be around somewhere and it was from Kitchen Craft and quite frankly most of these vendors were selling things, not that there is anything wrong with that, because it is expected, and they had fashion, fitness, beauty, health, nutrition and education all where covered, however the best, which gets into why I stayed so long, was to see if they were going to offer manicures to which I was willing to pay for, but were not there and to get health information (which I got more than I bargained for).

There was also this weird exhibitor there doing Ion Cleansing and it looked pretty gross. I have seen pictures on instagram, but not really sure about it, but a couple of people certainly were:

Atlanta Holistic Medicine was one of the sponsors and which would have been worth the money to hear if I had to purchase a ticket. Dr. Taz was awesome and her message was: Sustainable-SuperwomanKeypoints women:

  1. 7-8 hours sleep a night
  2. Anti-inflammatory diet
  3. Schedule stress recovery
  4. Workout
  5. Do what you are passionate about: career choices
  6. Critically evaluate relationships (release the ones you need to)
  7. Regulation of mood

Starting with these seven things and making sure that you are looking at each area and that will help make you a Sustainable Superwoman. Her practice believes in using the techniques of old (chinese medicine, etc), lifestyle changes and truly a holistic approach. I am looking into seeing her for infertility challenges that we are having and I will keep you filled in.

Thank you for reading and God Bless!!

I will be posting some of the videos to instagram under @god4bandme and on youtube under God4bandme soon.
