Almond Flour Review #morningpep
Saturday morning go to breakfast usually is the standard: bacon and eggs, but today, because I decided to make something totally different, pancakes!!! I was given a chance to review Blanched Almond Flour by Morning Pep and to see how it went keep reading.
I have never used Almond Flour to make pancakes or anything for that matter and I figured that one of the simplest ways to use almond flour is to make pancakes. I found a relatively simple recipe online that called for eggs, almond flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water and I followed the recipe 100 percent. I used Land O Lakes European Style Super Premium Butter (Bzzagent) I received free to bzz about, to cook the pancakes and to butter my finished pancakes.
The first thing I noticed is that it is not really fine ground like a flour, so it seemed to add additional texture to the pancakes. It will make me think about how this can be used in other things and how possibly a recipe might have to be adjusted to turn out properly. The 1st batch of pancakes were a bit thick even though I went according to the recipe, so the 2nd batch I added more water to it and I liked the consistency better. I would like to try this almond flour on fish as breading and see how it turns out, so I will keep you all posted and I will do another Almond Flour Review #morningpep when that happens.
This seems to be a great flour for anyone that is gluten free and looking for additional protein. The flour can last up to a year if it is stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
