6 Las Vegas Must Dos #vegas #dtlv

Las Vegas Must Dos #vegas #dtlv

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and making sure I have my essentials are a must. It is so uncomfortable to have to worry about driving around sometimes and unfamiliar city to find what you need. I just wanted to concern myself with everyone having a great time and that was it. This was my hubby’s first time in Las Vegas, my dad’s 87th birthday and a mini family trip and it had to be special.

We did several things while we were there and trust me, there are several things to do while there, but here is my list of 6 Las Vegas Must Dos if you decide to ever visit Las Vegas.

  1. Walk the infamous “STRIP”: Totally free all day every day to do this. Walk the strip and take the time to do it during the day and during the night. If you are a people watcher and enjoys the human body, trust me you will see all types and kinds of it. In fact, my youngest niece was flashed. I guess you can say we (hubby, our niece and I) were flashed. A lady during the day mind you, hollered out, “ Hey let me see yours!!” We looked and next thing we know there was a lady showing her boobs that had her nipples covered with black tape. I said to myself, now this is why it is not good for younger people to come here. You will be straight uncomfortable, if sex and sexy images are not your thing. I have always liked Las Vegas for the buildings during the night only because all of the lights and colors are so freaking cool. I have not been in all of the hotels, but I probably have seen them all during the night and attempted to take pictures of them all. I will have to go back to make sure I got everything:)

  1. Visit Lake Las Vegas: We were at a wonderful hotel, that had a nice collection of pools, however sometimes you want to be in and near bodies of water so we went to go to the Hilton at Lake Las Vegas and just chilled out. We enjoyed the short drive from Las Vegas and just walked in the hotel, got a few drinks and lunch and enjoyed the view.

  1. Flowers in Bellagio: We love the free stuff don’t we? There is no cost to look and one of the most beautiful places to go and take pictures for free is to go to the Botanical Garden at the Bellagio Casino and Hotel. My pics do not do it justice. You have to see it and they change up the theme so you do not want to miss it. Right now it is Japanese Spring.

  1. Blue Man Group: One of my favorite casinos for years, has been the Luxor due to the large pyramid structure and the large beam of light reaching to the heavenlies. Now when you visit, if you plan ahead you may be able to see the Blue Man Group. Now if you are easily grossed out, it is not going to be for you. I would honestly say that I was mid-level on that grossed out scale. Some things I could take b/c it was cool to see that it can be done, but others oh my, it is so perfect for kids and big kids alike. There is a lot of audience participation and if you do not want to be picked it may be wise to not make eye contact:)

  1. LaRev’e: So during this trip, my dadda celebrated his 87th birthday and my husband and I wanted to do something special. We went to the concierge and just asked for some suggestions, and he gave us the name, LeReve. We looked at the pictures and said let’s do it. This was in April and he is still saying that it was one of the best birthdays that he has had. That warmed both my husband and my heart and talking about it still brings a smile to my face, well it does. You always want to make your parents proud. In case, you want to check it out, it is still showing at one of the most beautiful casinos, the Wynn.

  1. Hoover Dam: Small fee for parking depending on where you park, you can save money by packing a small lunch, but if you are a history buff like me and have the time take one of the tours and more information can be found here: https://www.usbr.gov/lc/hooverdam/. Apparently, my younger brother and I have been there with our parents and took a tour, but I really do not remember and now that I am older and have different phoebias about heights and water I passed on the tour. I just enjoyed the drive there, b/c it was not far from Las Vegas and there were some nice photo opportunities.

Have you been to Las Vegas, if so what was your favorite thing to do?

Oh my goodness, your youngest niece got flashed? This is too much American. I have never seen one, my self and would not want to witness either!

  • Sondra

I’ve been to Las Vegas so many times and I have never heard of the Bontanical Garder. I’m so disappointed I missed it, it looks beautiful. I’ll have to check it out on my next trip! Looks super fun

The best things are free! First thing that I would really do in Vegas is to take a stroll along the strip. And of course, I fancy gardens, that Botanical Garden at the Bellagio would be a perfect hangout!

I went to Vegas about 5 years ago. It was a lot of fun…there is so much to do, you don’t even have to gamble. We went to a Cirque du Soleil show, O. I had the best milkshake ever there.

I haven’t been to Las Vegas in about six years or so and will be heading back in December to see Gwen Stefani. I am looking forward to heading back to The Bellagio to see the latest displays! I look forward to seeing your post regarding Vegas food! I need to start thinking about lunch and dinner reservations. 🙂

Awesome, I’m going to Vegas next month and will totally check some of these spots out! Especially the flowers at Bellagio!! I always go for the fountains but never knew about the botanical gardens!!!

This is a great list! I used to call Vegas home for 3 years. The only things I did on this list was walk the strip, see Le Reve, and visit the Hoover Dam. I never did get to see Lake Las Vegas but I wish I had!

I’ve been to Vegas a few times and yep its definitely NOT for the faint hearted. If you’re remotely offended by nudity or sexual nature of things then skip it. We love it 🙂 Saw blue man group a few years ago, they were AMAZING!

  • Kamapala Chukwuka

Wow, sounds like you had a fabulous time. Vegas is definitely one of the places I’d like to visit. I absolutely love the pics of hoover dam. It looks enormous yet intriguing at the same time. Fabulous post, fabulous pictures. Thanks for sharing

So nice. I would love to go the lakes. I think it would be my favorite location from those 5. I would enjoy the others as well, of course, but I just like how the lakes look like

  • Ada

I need to go visit the Hoover Dam next time I go! I spent most of my time on the strip. Great photos of Vegas!

  • Amanda

There is no shortage of things to do in Vegas! Walking up and down the Strip is always great for burning off all the calories from all the delicious food and drink. The Eye (ferris wheel) at night is amazing, and you can catch the Bellagio water show from above! We also made it out to the Grand Canyon via helicopter one time, which is a truly breathtaking experience!
